I wonder if you’d hear me from your house

If I hung off the porch

Shouted your name I love so much

We’ll try sometime but for now

Why don’t you

mosey over

Or shall we come to yours?

The pram is packed to burst so I think

We’ll mosey on

mosey over

Whisper to the wind

“we’re on our way”

Past white picket neighbor

“Good morning irises, daisies, cosmos”

Wait our turn to cross then

Along the pond full of geese whose down

floats on the breeze

Mosey on, mosey over

Nod to your front door, stride past the side door, swing through the gate and

settle in the back grass- is it

your yard or mine?

No matter, for the key is to have:

Stumps for pirate ships

Sheets for a tent

Swings for rockets to the stars to the moon

(bandaids for knees)

Black beans and apples and cheese sticks and berries… whatever they’re eating these days

Coffee for us

Hugs for us

Kind words, tired eyes

Knowing hands holding on

Til we mosey on home again

but for now, here.
